#ClimateJustice #Cop2Cop

Spazio di Mutuo Soccorso – Piazza Stuparich 18

& CS Cantiere – Via Monte Rosa 84

– Milano –

#climatejusticenow #precop

Between 27 September and 3 October, Milan will host PreCOP and Youth4Climate, two summits on climate change.
These summits will lead to #COP26 in #Glasgow in November.

❌For more than 25 years, COPs have promised to bring a solution to the climate crisis but have only produced empty promises, without real change. On the contrary, emissions continue to rise.

⏰During these summits, we will mobilise to make the voice of the climate justice movement heard.

📍We must eradicate this sick system because another world is not only possible, but necessary. 📍

#savethedate 📝
From Tuesday 21st September to Sunday 3rd October we’ll be waiting for you at SMS – Spazio di Mutuo Soccorso in piazzale stuparich 18, we’ll be waiting for you at Cs Cantiere but also in the squares and actions in our city for the #ClimateActionDays: 12 days of mobilisations, cultural meetings, self-managed workshops and sociality, all in respect of collective health.

We look forward to 10 days of cultural encounters, self-organised workshops and social events, all in the interests of collective health.

Towards the mobilisations against PreCOP and Youth4Climate, the students of the Student Collective Coordination of Milan and province are organising a climate school weekend.

On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September, since they don’t teach us reality about the climate crisis in schools, we will do the school! In these two days of self-organised meetings and workshops we will take action to understand and combat the climate crisis.
See you at SMS – Spazio di Mutuo Soccorso, in piazzale Stuparich 18 at Cs Cantiere, in Via Monte Rosa.

Press Conference
Monday 27th September sees the start of the United Nations meetings in Milan with Youth4Climate, a green parade to allow politicians, governments and fossil fuel multinationals to pretend to care about the future and young people, taking a few pretty pictures while flashing smiles almost as fake as their promises.
That’s why we, the students of Milan and its province, will hold a public press conference, to make the real demands of the climate justice movement heard.

Friday 1 October 2021

Student’s Strike for Future

😠The first 25 COPs have failed to bring about significant change, and have always gone hand in hand with a steady increase in emissions.😠 The experts agree that the United Nations is a major player in the climate debate.
😠 Experts agree that COP26 may be the last chance to agree on common actions to avoid climate catastrophe. That’s why, together with Fridays ForFuture Italy, we have set up the Climate Open Platform, the platform that will create a climate controversy, giving space to the voices of the people and areas of the world most affected by the ongoing climate crisis.

🔥 It is now common knowledge that we are experiencing an unprecedented climate and environmental crisis, caused by a capitalist system that exploits land and bodies.
We are close to a 1.5 degree increase from pre-industrial times. It may not sound like much, but if we exceeded this threshold, the environmental devastation would be unpredictable. However, CO2 emissions are one of the main causes of this increase, but they have been growing continuously since the industrial revolution.

The climate crisis is already putting the lives of millions of people at risk, and they are mobilising en masse. All over the world, struggles for the protection of territories, against environmental and climate devastation, are emerging and growing.

✨ These struggles are united by the desire to put climate justice at the heart of them.

It is not enough to stop emissions, it must be done fairly, protecting the peoples and people who are most affected by climate change, and who almost always do not produce large emissions. The so-called MAPAs (Most Affected Peoples and Areas) are at the forefront of the fight for climate justice, and their struggles and demands serve as a guide for activists around the world.

Our house is on fire, mobilise and join the demonstration on Friday 1 October:

Rendezvous at 9:30 am Largo Cairoli !

h 22:00 – Band Live @CS Cantiere

To end this day of struggle in the best possible way, let’s toast and celebrate towards another possible world!
We wait for you in Via Monte Rosa 84 at CS Cantiere for a cliamtico-themed evening!

March for Climate Justice

On Saturday 2 October we will call a strike for climate justice at 15:00, open to all the realities and social actors who care about the health of the planet, which corresponds to the health of citizens. The city of Milan will be the protagonist and with the eyes of the world on them, citizens will take to the streets to demand real change.

If the delegates meet in the summit buildings, then civil society will be in the streets with the movement for climate justice, because the voice of those who will suffer most from the climate crisis will be heard.

No more empty promises!

Plenary towards Glasgow

A rendezvous to pass the baton to the next climate movement city, towards Glasgow, where COP 26 will take place.

*programme being updated #StayTuned

The climate action days will be based on SMS – Spazio di Mutuo Soccorso, an occupied space that stands within and in contrast to the Milanese metropolis. SMS is a laboratory of good practices not only of sustainability, such as urban gardens and zero-waste exchange markets, but also of social justice and collective care, through the mutual aid bank, the popular solidarity purchasing group, the popular clinic, the Abba school and the Hurricane popular gym.
These days of mobilisation will also be an opportunity to promote the exchange of knowledge and practices of environmental sustainability, from space management to food, completely plant-based and locally sourced.

how to arrive :

1) SMS – Spazio di Mutuo Soccorso

Piazza Stuparich 18 – M1/M5 Lotto
